Since I had one SG
Special already (faded brown), I
decided to get another SG
Special, this time in worn
cherry. To me the SG Special faded series are a good
value (ie, lot of guitar for the
money), quite playable, and sound good - at least with the Gibson 490
humbuckers. Time would tell
for the conversion's sound.

pickups are available from many companies. Gibson of course, started the design,
so I decided to use the honest-to-Pete Gibson's.
Look at that bent thing! This
was a brand new sealed Gibson pickup... AND it was the
least bent of the two I got! Some surgery was in order.
