More Routing
Here's a clean shot of the
finished
routes:

And below, another shot of the
routes. It a bit hard to see, but
the corners are radiused pretty well, and the cuts blend into the
existing cuts pretty well too. Unless you're going to make a full
fledged router jig to get it "just right", the handheld cuts are the
only way to go. Just go slow, be careful, and remember, neatness
counts!

And, below, here's a shot after I
sanded the cavities totally, and put
three
coats of Deft
clear satin laquer on them to get a more "factory"
look. Yeah, I know, nobody will see it, but "I'll know".
Its a bit easier now to see the radiused corners and how well the cuts
blend in to the existing openings. Also cleaned up are the
bushings for the tailpiece, which still had their factory protective
tape on them.

Above, the laquer is still a little wet in this shot. After it
dried
(takes about 15 minutes) it was totally "flat" and non-glossy.
