I have an SG Classic, and was hoping humbuckers would fit. Also, do the p90's have the clip-in pups? i will probably like to go back and forth with these pups.

    Thanks,

Nope Burstbuckers won't fit without a lot of routing, and as far as I'm aware, you can't get "clip-in P90s" either.
You may be able to fit in some mini-humbuckers, but I don't think they make burstbuckers in that size. And to swap from P90s to Mini-Hums, you'd have to remove the strings and pickguard, unsolder the pickup connections, swap to mini-hums, re-solder, fit them in the pickguard and re-assemble. Way too much effort to go "back and forth".
You'd be better off buying another guitar with burstbuckers already in it. Save you a lot of hassle, and also that way you don't risk damage to your SG Classic.

    I jumped the reservation!
I agree with Alex here. There is no practical benefit to what you are seeking to do. You're much better off finding another guitar with the pickups you desire than to attempt swapping out these things. It's just is not a feasible application.

I'm kind of a prostitute for Dimarzio sometimes, but this might really work for ya: P90 Super Distortion

It's a super distortion in P90 form. I use a SD in my Epi Les Paul and it was revelation for me. I know they're old, but they just sound awesome. Great crunchy, chest bursting tone without being over the top. Haven't tried the p90 form factor version, but I'm sure it's pretty close. It is a humbucker, and it will fit where once was a soapbar p90.

Best of luck whatever you try.

That is probably the closest thing the OP is going to find, even though he wanted Burstbuckers. I suppose the SD is fairly close... At least he wouldn't have to re-route the guitar to get them to fit...
