Yes it is, I've read that some early MIK had the same headstock shape and then quickly moved to the angled Epi shape.
This headstock shape isn't bad either.
Last week end I scored a 2004 MIK LP '56 Gold Top and it is really close to my 2012 LP Classic Custom in terms of feel and playability.

The Lollars were an improvement but I can say that the original ones were quite good...
You may want to consider a drill sanding drum for the bevels.
Though the Epi body is a bit thicker than a Gibson SG body.
