    Hi does anyone know were to buy epiphone 1966 sg pro cherry the latest model with bound neck in uk as cant find any store selling them gear4music had some but now discountinued line.

    All of the '66 Pros have bound necks, the older ones are bound with rosewood and it seems the newer ones have white plastic.

    I can't help you with where to buy one, but I can confirm that they are excellent guitars. I would also suggest trying to find a nice used one, much better value.

    Hi guys thanks for the replies.i will hopfully come across one soon as it is for my son.i have a few gibson sgs.and he wanted a good starter sg the looks and sounds good.many thanks j.

    Best of luck finding one and congrats on your son joining the Guitar Army! An Epiphone SG of any type would be an excellent starter guitar.

    Welcome to ETSG! Have you tried Thomann? Given the current political situation,
    trade across the channel might be restricted, but that outfit sells guitars throughout
    the EC.

    But I agree with my colleagues, that finding a previously owned Eppie might be
    easier and a lot less expensive. Just take it to the best luthier you can find or
    afford, and get it set up, and it's better than new IMHO.

    Plastic creme binding is best just for the looks alone.

    Yes the plastic binding really looks good on the epip sg.also looks like the newer models have more curves on the body.
