Yeah I’m second guessing the pickguard. I’m gonna run it PG-less,@DrBGood really planted a seed lol! I am still waiting on the Bigsby and then I can finalize everything.

I might put it together today....

And then there’s this wiggle stick too. Won’t quite match the patina and it’s also going on another guitar. (Hopefully a black SG with all chrome pieces)

Little creative grounding... from the control cavity to the stop tail hole to the bridge post hole.

Soooo... the first Bigsby was a B500 frame/anchor, B50 and B5 conglomerate parts. I tried to fix it, but the main shaft (with the string anchor arm) was not the same as
the frame and the bearings weren’t sitting right. Luckily, there is a local parts warehouse and I picked up a fresh B50. I still have the B7 which will go onto the ‘08 Robot I picked up (there will be a thorough gutting for upgraded pickups, new pots and tuners. There will be a build thread!).

I just need to wire and fire this one.

Well, she’s done!!! I played the crap out of her, broke the E string and swapped in a B in its place. Might have to go up a gauge now.

When I stripped the neck, I also used some danish oil on it. Keeps the feel I like and also seals, protects and hardens like a clear coat.

And the sticker you ask? Well her name is Snow White. One because of the color she was and also how she sat broken (but not dead) until she was revived.

    You should age the tuners.

I have an aged set on one of the Les Pauls I have. I’ll wait until string change to add them though. I wanted to get this going and playing before the next Guitar hits my bench.

Cool. Sounds like you’re happy with it. Stays in tune fine with the bigsby?

After I stretched the strings yes. When I first put it on, I was playing “Lenny” and noticed she was falling flat. I stretched and retuned several times and finally she stuck it out with no issues. I have an 08 Robot on its way to me that is getting the B7. I ordered a few upgrades with that to see if there is any difference. Callaham front roller with the recesses area per string to keep the string from walking and the main string shaft to eliminate the studs and supposedly keeps the sustain longer. I also have a roller bridge and will cut a bone nut for it as well.

The finish. The rescue. The 2nd rescue. Cool AF !!

I vote pick guard on because it evokes the look of the “original” from the alternate universe this guitar came from.

I actually came to the forum because I saw a good deal today on a 2010 G400 with a flame veneer.

You clearly dig this one how does it play ? Is the neck slim or more C shaped?

What pickups did you put in?

When I stripped the paint on this one, the glue on the veneer came up too so I took it all off. If it was a refinish that I wanted to look new, there would have been a lot more work put into it!

The pickups are the Epiphone 57’s. The bridge is HOT!!! The neck is mostly there to look pretty lol!

The neck a flat C I’d say. I have short fingers so I prefer a skinny neck. This one reminds me of the neck on my Classic Player Strat neck. 12” radius, but not a baseball bat thick to it. She plays very fast and easy and with the pickups in it, more of a 70’s-80’s rock sound. The frets still have a lot of life to them and she was played a lot before I got her.

If you can snag yours for a price you’re happy with, I’m sure you won’t regret it!!
