Hey man, nice find. I'm in St. John's too and picked up a couple of 50's tribute SG's up to bestbuy.

    Hi there,
    Brand new here.
I recently bought one of the Bestbuy Canada 2014 SGJs in Cherry and it does not have the 12th fret anniversary inlay. Can't believe it made it past QC. I think I scooped a pretty cool rare bird.

Are you sure it wasn't a 2013 or something?

Says 2014 on the headstock and has the Zebra 61s. Built on June 14/14. I had a 2013 SGJ and it was certainly different than this one.

    Damn that's awesome!

But our motto here is pics or it didn't happen! I'd love to see that.

It's taken a while to respond (sorry) but here's a pict. Truss rod cover is off as I was 'adjusting'. Also, has the allen key adjustable bridge studs which I think were a 2015 'improvement'. Neck feels a bit less 50s rounded. I think it was a late year build and Gibson was running out of parts and substituting some 2015 ones. No zero fret tho', thankfully.

looks like a fine axe... the rest of us are just a little bit jealous. but not enough to
give our Canadian neighbors a hard time. Welcome to ETSG, all of our new members who've
just intelligently scored the guitar deal of the century. (sorry, that means it's all downhill from
here, but y'all knew that anyway. play the blues).

Those '61 zebra p'ups are supposed to be awesome. I don't have any, it's just what people have
reported here. What you ought to do is buy every one you can find, and then offer them for sale
here to our members for like 20% markup. So you make something, and anyone who buys one stilld gets a great deal. Hard to beat, eh?

That's super cool! No inlay , must be a really rare bird. In ten 20 years it might be collectable!
