    BAD BAD....

Do that mod (#2 and #3 give the same result BTW). Now roll off a little treble and turn down the volume just a little... omg where'd the volume go????

When you do that mod, the cap no longer references the full signal, but instead references a signal in series with a resistor, thats also got a resistor shunted to ground (ie, pot at less then full volume). The resuly is monsterous loss of volume when the tone control is applied at less than full volume.

Never cared for a volume drop when I used my tone control.....I don't want to change the volume when I use the tone....I figure that's what the volume control is for in the first place!
