Does anyone know where one can find a Lyre Vibrola tailpiece? I've tried eBay, but haven't had any luck, so two questions:

Does anyone make an after-market version?
What kind of drilling/modification do you need to do to install one on an SG that currently has a stop tailpiece?

You can get a repro without engraving from http://www.allparts.com/categories.php?cat_id=419&cat_name=TREMOLO TAILPIECES contact brucewayne121 and get a ESG member discount and help the site.

You will need to remove your stock bridge and studs and you will be left with the remainder (either holes or threaded bushings) left in the guitar. You can fix 'em or leave 'em your choice. The bridge attaches with wood screws and you will want to pilot drill the holes so that the body doesn't split. I have put my mechanical drawing skills to good use and I've made a blueprint that will help you lay out the screw holes from the layout on my original '70 SG Std.If you would like a copy I can fax you one.You can send me a fax # by personal msg and I will send it to you.

I am more Batfink ("my wings are like a shield of steel"!!) than Batman, Skids, but I can tell you that it is the same tailpiece as the Lyre.... but the "short" Maestro has a third hole (in the centre) for an extra woodscrew. The Lyre only has 2 on the tailpiece and 4 smaller holes on the "Trapeze"
