Am I cured of GAS ?

    Since my latest Epi SG400 acquisition, I stopped scouring local ads, eBay, GC, Craigslist, Reverb and such for guitars.
    I haven't done it for amps either, since I got my two Vox amps AD60VT and MV50.

    Could it be ? Could it ? GAS GONE ?

    I think a second opinion is required here. This is way too serious to be taken lightly.

    There is no cure for GAS, you have simply gone into remission. I'm sure you will have a flare up soon! :rofl:

    Regarding the Epi G-400, that usually leads to a serious condition known as GMS (Guitar Modification Syndrome). Also chronic and expensive!
    I actually acquired it from a Squier Stratocaster, it's full blown now.

    It's possible.
    Ever since I acquired my two SG Classics, nothing else really interests me. I favor them over all the guitars I had in the past which include Flying V, Explorer, LP Special, LP Traditional, Strat, Tele. The SG does everything I need it to do.

    Gas is very shrewd Doc. You guitar GAS may come to an end. But pedal GAS can begin. Or a new tube amp can "light youur fire" again :naughty::naughty:

    I was never a pedal hoarder. My amps give me pretty much the tonal experience I like. I've had a old Ibanez DF7 Chorus forever and it's now embeded in my tone palette.

    As for tube amps, I learned how not to want one.
    Not to worry, I'm too far up North to fear hurricanes.

    The thing is, When I practice/noodle/play, I have these 5 great guitars and 3 amps at arm's lenght and every now and then, for short periods, I keep changing from one to the other. This way I don't have time to ponder if my tone should benefit from GAS. It's actually a very nice place to be, no GAS in the air, just colored tones, like sunrise and sunset.

    If I remember correctly you got a stunning G-400 Vintage without without veneer and nice grain (the red one). Now you got another one just like that (but in brown). What makes you think you won't go for a third one some day? :D

    They only came in those two colours, no need to buy another.

    After the recent purchase of my Firebird I reckon I'm done with guitars for the foreseeable future. I'm fairly well set for amps too.

    I have gotten into building pedals though, so there's still that to spend money on, and I might even build myself an amp someday.

    But if anything, I might eventually sell the red one. Might, I said ...
