So I only own two pedals at the moment. A Ditto looper and a standard Cry Baby wah. Up until today I was under the impression that I could only use one at a time because I only had the means to power one at a time (please keep in mind throughout this post that I know next to nothing about how pedals work). Today I went out and bought a patch cable and daisy chain so I could power them both at a time but then found that the daisy chain plug wasn't long enough to plug into my wah. So I just plugged it into my looper and left the wah without power. Then when I plugged in my guitar, to my amazement both pedals still worked even though the wah wasn't being powered. So whats the deal? Does the wah not require power? Does the looper being powered somehow also power the wah? Is my wah pedal a scientific miracle? Or am I just a numpty?

    Cheers

Are you sure there's not a battery in the wah?

Just to clarify: Are you saying the Wah pedal is actually producing the wah effect? Or is it just passing a regular signal because it's got a true bypass circuit?

My bad guys, it's got a battery in it and i was just too lazy to literally just flip it over and check. My apologies. Stoked that it can take batteries instead though

It's still magic!!! The magic of batteries!!! How do they put all that power in that little rectangle, I'll never understand.

(Psst, most other boxes take batteries too) lol.

Hey no worries, back in the day I had the same problem in reverse. I didn't know you could plug them in ;)

Separate questions. Just so you know stupid and not knowing are not the same thing.

If you were as old as me (60), you COULDN'T plug them in LOL. No a/c adapter plugs on Crybaby or Vox back then.

I used to get Radioshack 9volt Battery Eliminators. It had a 9 volt clip that you connected to the pedal where the battery went. Man, I just showed my age. Now, ya just get a One Spot and a daisy chain and you're set.
