Plank schpanker... you mean play bass? or are you referring to the Teles?
I gotta Jazz bass... but I rarely play it. I WOULD probably play it more if I was jammin' or better yet... playing out. Thats not happening right now though.

In that case, yeaup. There is something about the Tele that always has its charm. From straight ash/maple to thinline... I like em all (nearly).

CB added fuel to that fire, yes...

I think, just for the emotional health of
everyone at ESG, we should ban such porn!

It's like a Vodka bar at an AA meeting!

Here I am, TRYING to get control of my senses, my credit cards,
and my life and temptation gets shoved right into my face!

There is none finer to suckle tone from than the 69 Thinline style. Combination of hollow mahogany body (even with the maple neck) and standard "Tele" pickups offers a tasty indulgance. Soft, warm, silky smooth, tasty, fun to play with... er wait... the TELE I mean!!!

If you have "icepick in the ear aversion", the warmth of 69 style Thinline may just convert you.

And, for us old farts with lumbar stenosis (or worse) the weight is just fine.

The only thing I really change on a Tele - is the output jack. Change it to a Les Paul style metal plate to hold the jack in. Those cups have a nasty habit of letting go unexpectedly. Fortunately Les Paul plates are easily sifted out when I clean the fireplace.
