This is a "Northcourt Fifty". My father played it ina band in the sixties - thru a Selmer cab. It probably hasn't been switched on since 1968. I am about to fire it up - thru the Orange Celestion cab....

While we're talking about obscure amps, anybody familiar with Stramp amps?
Jack Bruce used 'em in West Bruce & Lang.

    STRAMP.......Now there's a blast from the Past!
I had a Stramp Rig in the late 70s. 50 Watt Head and a 4x12. The Cabs were quite nice and well constructed, but the Head........well it had the usual Sounds that EL34s will give you. Personally I always found it very Flat and unresponsive. But then again.....I'm NOT Les West.

I had a northcourt 30 w/ el34's and traded it out on a deal as that's what he wanted....and the Stramp went the same way but to my best Mate Matt Jackson in Seymour, Indy on indefinite loan as we do a lot with each other!~ Stramp wasn't my cuppa tea and Matty had three of em so I figured it's better off with him! He's done the same with me...........

"But then again.....I'm NOT Les West."

Les used Sound City SMF's in WB&L..all that loudness and not a Marshall in sight.

    Just a small aside...
He played with the Vagrants out on LI before he made it big (no pun intended).
Way back then it was a Guild Starfire VI and an Ampeg super echo twin up on a chair.
    and he was goooooood!
Any of you Long Island guys ancient enough to remember that?
