Sadly ended, and a bit far for pick up for me! :D

Have spotted one on this side of the pond though, and it’s a faded cherry burst- just like my Tribute plus! (but with a quilted top) might just have to make a cheeky offer - have a few more things to sell, so always looking for the next one to try :thumb:

What makes you say it's fake?

How so ? Apart from color, I don't see any difference from mine.

I’d be interested to hear your reasons for that too... :hmm:

Presume we’re talking about the same one? Or were you referring to the one in DrB’s original post ...? The one I mean checks out with the old epi wiki page...

And although it says made 2005-7, they do keep making guitars for a while after the official discontinued date, as far as I’m aware?

2005-7 is right. They then went to make an Ultra II and Ultra III, and now the Pro.

I've never seen one with that deep a cut in the back though. Must have been a prototype.

See? This is why I love this forum :D

So much knowledge, and people happy to share it :thumb:

Thanks DrB, I’m sure I’d have realised eventually, but not had as much time for research lately.

Still might have a bid, but may hold on and see if an Ultra I comes up.

It has a nice top though. They usually are more clownesque and I hate that. I was lucky I found a natural. Made for the Autralian market I was told.

I am slowly deblinging it. It got new chrome ProBuckers with black rings. All the gold is going to be replaced with chrome and I'll bring down the shine on the poly.

Agreed, it’s pretty similar to my Tribute - barring the quilted top - which are both reasons that attracted me to it initially... (gratuitous Tribute plus pic for comparison)

But the more I’ve thought about it, don’t think I want 2 guitars that look the same :hmm:

Wouldn’t mind one like yours, but as you say, a bit harder to come by than the standard ones...

    The search continues:thumb:

    They sure did!

Decided not to bid on the Ultra II after all, will keep an eye out for an original ultra.
