I see less of the late 90's, that were different from the 03-04-05 Vintage series.

They didn't have veneer either and were often heavier (over 8 lbs for the one below). Pups were said to be muddy. No neck binding and no scarf joint if I recall. They had the vintage Kluson type tuners. Here's a 98 I had for a little while.

I don't think the scarf joint is bad. But veneers always creep me out. It seems like, somebody tries to hide, to cover a bad thing. They don't look natural for my tastes.

I am hoping mine is not heavy. I will weigh it in tomorrow after I pick it up and let you know along with some pics.

Interesting @Vintage Rocker and @DrBGood. I told you I had a 93 Epi back in days. She was the lightest guitar I've ever owned. Her design was between a standard G400 and a 61 Reissue with a thinner body, and a 61 Reissue style neck without binding.

I use my 03/04 vintage and my 05 Epi SG Deluxe more often than my Gibson's . The Vintage is probably about 7lbs. They are both great players.

Don't know about that one, not mine and I'm not going to get it. But both my 2003 and 2004 are about the same at 6.5 lbs, just a tad under 3kg.

I bought four up to now and kept the best two. I made a good margin selling those I didn't keep. That latest one is the price I sell them, so no go for me.

I learned how to trust people from my province on those kind of deals. Dunno about elsewhere ...

The original G400 vintage models are one of those great sleeper guitars that have a cult following for a reason. Much like the Gibson Les Paul Standard Fadeds (2005+), the ES-333s, these guitars will continue to be sought out by those who know how great they can be.

I convinced one of my former bandmates to grab a G400 vintage, was an 04 or 05 from what I remember - great, great guitar. Wouldn't mind having one, or a few, myself:D

The other killer Korean G400 giant slayer is the old late 90s G400 Korina. I picked one up about 10 years ago and it is one of the best guitars I've ever played or heard. I would have 10 of them if I had the room.

Can't read the serial, but looks to be a 2004 or 05 with upgrades. Are you getting it ?

I get as tired of these as I do studying your paintings! (Why it took me so long to click on your http://jeangaudet.ca link I'll never know)
