    Thought I'd pass this along.

I just received a new Bigsby roller with retrofitted bearings, from a guy on Ebay:

I haven't actually used it yet, but the difference in smoothness between this and the original is incredible. I don't know how much it will help with tuning stability, but for twenty bucks it seems like a no-brainer.

It's less than half the price of a Callahan roller. It's interesting, but until it's installed, smoothness has no bearing on my decision whether to purchase it. ;)

Once it's actually installed and under pressure, that's when things get interesting.

... no bearing on my decision ... that's a good one.

All kidding aside, I'm interested in the product. Having said that, a bearing without a load tells you nothing.

Mine arrived today and I will install it these weekend. I'm mostly interested in how it affects the stability of the tuning.

Tuning still sucked. I give up on tremolos.

    It's not the tremolo's fault.

I'd give it a chance first.

I've tried Les Trem II and Bigby with roller bridges. Move the arm and it doesn't come back to where it was, it's sharp or flat but never centered.

What's your situation with the nut? Plastic, bone, Tusq?
