The MLP forum has a thread called Black SG Club, but this forum doesn't. :dunno: That has now changed, so post your black SG or SG's, whether it be a Gibson, Epiphone, or even a copy. If it's black, then post your pictures. :applause: Here's mine...

Although not my first color choice, it's very cool and everybody needs at least one black SG

Haha, my friend, to be honest, you made me think about getting a neck pu with a cover. Specials with covers just look amazing - just like your guitar.

SIgn me in, I am a proud owner of two Black SGs. My 98 Special is an O'L Gal with tons of experiece, she gives a lot of tone, insane sustain and you can virtually say she is all that and a bag of chips. My 2010 standard is my first SG ever. she started it all, sadly I hardly ever play it, she still got the factory pickguard foil and sticker. never the less she is a sweet, sweet babe. pleasure to look at, a little more temperamental than the special, the 498 over drive very well on my Marshall DSL 40. Yet the O'l Gal, (SG Special) always calls me back and treats me like a king. Love my Black SGs. Now I got to go or my wife is going to get jelous.

Notice how I am trying to go for a black on black scheme. Black Switch and Black Speed knobs. I used not like this guitar that much, the neck is slightly thicker than what I like. I set it up one day and played it for a little while, I was still disapointed. I put her on her case and forgot about her. Three month later I remember her, pull her out and strummed some cords, I was blown away, it was like she was trying to please me. The set up I have done previously, was perfect and dead on. I had to plug her in to my Marshall. She sang to me, Screamed, gave me this perfect clear sound and 0ver drove my amp nicely. She was all dressed in black, ready to kill. I remebered why I bough her and all regrets were gone. She have been a daily player, she has one the best sutain of all four of my SGs. I can't go very long whithout playing it. Her pick ups, 490s are very good, but I am a big fan of 57s. Never the less 490s are do it all, play any style type of pickups. I have consider to replace the pickups for SD APH IIs, but I am not 100% on it yet.

I have have a 1999 SG Special that I bought for my 65th birthday last August. Great guitar! It's a translucent black called Ebony Stain - shows the wood underneath the color, and the body is one piece...pics below.

I love it so much that I just bought another black '99 SG Special late last night - The "new" one is a regular black Special that has had a lot of playing use, but it has honest and earned "relicing" that caught my attention...Should be here by the weekend. It looks much like the SG pictured in the OP - Covered neck pup, open face bridge pup...

I really love my SG's after decades of not liking them at all...

    Also have a 2012 Epiphone EB3 bass...Black!

I would love to have this guitar! A black Classic with P90's is on my wishlist. There are a few other guitars I want to get, but this here is a definite must. ;)

Killer control knobs!!! Looks great and it's quite the contrast.

Is there some kind of speaker built underneath the pickguard? The pickups look awesome! Are they P94's? The bridge p.u. looks like a P90. I would love a set of those. Nice axe. :)

Thanks my friend. I've done that to mimic a certain other guitar with somewhat the same look on the pickups. Can you guess which guitar? :)

Love the rosewood fingerboard. It offsets the black with a slight reddish hue. That's a beauty guitar. You should post a picture of your Epi EB3 bass when you get a chance. ;)

Thanks! Many didn't like the white knobs but I love it. It's my FULL-tuxedo mod. The only thing I haven't done is the switch tip. Which I do have but haven't used yet :hmm:

No, that pickguard is the one used on the SG Menage (2006). Just cut for the look I suppose. The pups are GFS Dream 90's. Humbucker-sized p-90's. Very warm, very huge sounding, inexpensive too. Thanks! :thumb:
