I did a search and saw there was no fan club for my favorite SG finish: brown!

So this is a thread for all of you who own or love SGs with a brown natural wood finish - walnut, vintage sunburst, "natural burst", etc. are all good here. Post pictures, poems, whatever you want, as long as it has to do with brown SGs.

I find that every time I've got the SG G.A.S., it's almost always for a brown SG with natural wood finish.

Here are the ones I own:

Epiphone G-400 Faded in Worn Brown (my favorite guitar)

2013 Gibson SG 50's Tribute in Vintage Sunburst

And here's the one I've been G.A.S.'ing over - 2013 SGJ in Rubbed Vintage Burst:

Brown ones were always my favorite too. But my 3 knob in Black was my first SG.

SO here are both Black and Brown.

I think I posted this under the non-cherry thread from a while back, but any excuse to post pictures!

Worn brown faded. Still my favourite finish that I've ever seen.

good choice! it seems like every other color (except zoot suits) has their
own club around here, including red, which is like, the whole forum...

except for a few of us eccentrics.
my faded brown is still the most beautiful guitar I have, and I'm head over
heals in love with it even though I've been its keeper since like 2008.

my SG's name is Luna, because after I bought it I kept staring at those
lovely curved cutaways, and seeing the waxing and waning phases of the
    moon when I did. *shrugs

anyway, I've modded my SG faded special with
Grover vintage keystone tuners, Buzz Feiten tuning system, bone shelf nut
Custom ebony TRC by Scott Swirski with abalone and MOP inlay
Walnut pickguard made by me, Ebony switch washer made by me,
Gibson '57 classic and classic plus pickups, black p'up covers,
Martin SixString premo wiring harness, Tone Pros Bridge and Tail...
oh and 0-11 knobs from Allparts.

My brown SG is the best guitar of any kind that I have ever played.

Hey, I just realized...all of us have the...

    ...wait for it...

    ...the BROWN sound!

I'll probably catch flak for this, but I think the SG looks better in brown than any other solid body.

Question for Col Mustard and Heket:

Have you polished your guitars? They look to have a warm satin lustre to them. Very appealing.

Just noticed my handguns in my avatar are black and brown handled too. Smitty, I also love an ES 335-355 in Brown. Saw a sweet brown one with finish checking at a pawn shop once. MMMMMMMMMMMM

    Also for flack for Smitty.

I used Music Nomad "Guitar One" which is a cleaner/polisher in one, and then when that was nicely rubbed in, I used some furniture treatment which contains a mixture of beeswax, carnauba wax and some other stuff including a nice orange scent that doesn't linger long enough to become obnoxious.

I'm on the road right now, and can't remember the name of that stuff, but i got it at a hardware store, and if you're curious you can p.m. me and I'll respond when I get back home and can look at the bottle. I like that stuff, and will use it again. It wasn't hard to find.

    UNLEASH THE KRAKEN!

I polished the worn brown finish to help the grain show through, replaced all the chrome with gold and replaced all the plastic walnut burl. Gold and brown go together well IMHO.
