Damaged nitro finish - how to fix it?

    Hi everyone, my son ran some nail polish on my SG, do you know if there is a way to fix it? thanks in advance.

    But it out with some rubbing compound.

    Clean it with some naphtha lighter fluid like Ronsonol and then use a rubbing compound and polish.

    Ooo ... doesn't nail polish have something like acetone in it ?

    Nothing you can do, just send it to me :rofl:

    But seriously, if I were in that situation, I'd run some of the same nail polish in the back of the headstock lets say, and test different solutions there before attacking the highly visible patch you now have.

    Thanks a lot guys, let's see what I find in the stores around here, looks like a car polish could be ok..I'll let you know :hmm:

    Leave it alone. I have a 1967 SG. Every mark on it is part of the history of a great guitar.

    Magic scratch remover!!! Thanks guys for advices and support! :thumb: Now it’s almost impossibile to spot the scratch.
