36 hours ago, we had a hell of a wind storm, trees down and uprooted everywhere and of course, power went out. No problem, I have a generator, just go get it in the shed and Tada, back to normal.

Only thing is, the generator isn't there anymore. So now on top of having to buy a new one, I might loose what's in my fridge and big freezer. I hope the power will come back soon ...

Well, that should make the Doc feel better...

Are you sure you didn't lend it to somebody?

In laid back California's rural gold country, that might be a hanging offense, enforceable by the harmed party. Sort of like stealing my horse. I have had a few thefts over the years, but I try to take a charitable view of the miscreant, having seen what an over attachment to things can make people do, but I must admit to a bit of guilty pleasure when I learned that the fellow who stole my Triumph Bonneville had wrapped it around a telephone pole, breaking a few bones in the process, but surviving to be prosecuted.

Nope, heat is taken care of with a wood stove if we loose power. Cooking with gaz range. Generator is for running water (I'm on a well), and saving freezers content.
