i have a '61 SGLP I am restoring. I have a great replica pickguard but want a real vintage one to complete the restoration. I bought one from a dealer that was an early guard with sharp points that did not match the screw holes (was close but the one near the control knobs was off) or the shaddow made from the original guard so I sent it back.

What are the differences between the guards from 60-62? Mine was made mid year '61 if that matters.

I don't think a minor difference like that was a purposeful design change, but rather a result of the less machine-intensive build process back then.
