Just for fun, Epiclone SG made in Japan, the body design is the same than Gibson , nice bevel, nice mahogany

This new headstock is actually a very smart move for Gibson, think of the multi-millions lost due to knock-offs and counterfeits, the consumer that bought those will now hopefully be inclined to buy a legal and quality Epiphone rather than an illegal Chibson knock-off of questionable quality as long as the pricing is set appropriately. :yesway:

That would be too high, I paid $850 for a used Gibson SG Standard in mint condition just last summer.

Epiphone pickups sound surprisingly good so hold off buying pickups until youve spent some time with it. :yesway:

We're gonna get shafted as usual, no worries for me I already have a couple quality Gibson SGs I dont have a need for one of these any way.

Photo flame is actually a good idea, its just a visual that keeps the cost down and looks good. As long as you have good wood underneath and full disclosure of the photo flame so you know what youre getting. :yesway:

You’re in the minorty. On the photo flame kick.

Now if you’re wrapping a body in chrome film or glass sparkle etc. that’s different.

None of the guitars using photo flame (was that in the late 90’s??) ever was convincing. Generally it was always the same exact photo flame “picture” on every guitar too. It became a very odd and a very obvious visual anomaly that you just couldn’t “un-see”.
