Reminiscent of a French ponce's jackets, and a gaudy French ponce at that!

I have no idea what effect the 'phase switch" might have...but the look is certainly unique. Not sure I could get used to it...especially the cream pickup rings. But I appreciate more color choices for SGs! And I like green guitars, so this would be my preferred choice from this lineup.

This one here that is soon to be out in a couple weeks has caused me to pull it up & look at it again several times since I first seen it!

Sure they call it a 61 and the Vibrola wasn't slapped on these things until around 63 but I can overlook that because the look is so perfectly iconic & beautiful!

    For $549.oo I'll admit I'm gas'n sooo bad I got cramps!

I"Ive been looking at that a lot, myself.
Great choice of pickups...however, the veneer doesn't cover the body bevel.
I've got 400.00 in credit at MF and it might go towards this.

I'm curious about the Muse as Epiphone says it has a "Custom C" neck profile.

Phase is simple: it takes the hot signal from the ground on one of the pickups, giving it a thin nasal sound. Think a lot of funk guitars from the 70's. With the 2 volume controls, you can vary the amount of the out of phase tone.

The look.... ehhh. Interesting pastel color pallet. I wonder if they are shooting for the female market with these?

If you want to hear what out of phase sounds like, try Peter Green's Les Paul, or any Strat in switch positions 2 or 4.

Only if the three position switch allows on your pre-1977 Strat. My 67 had a "kill switch" between positions 2 and 3.

Yeah, why haven't they upgraded that? Not a big deal tonally, but the visual impact of the veneer is a deal breaker for some.

Those finishes are not exactly my cup of tea, to put it mildly, neither the actual pastel colors or the metallic shine they got to them, though I am sure it is just the right blend for someone out there, and apparently you OP is one of those people.

Strictly visually I am not too keen of humbuckers with the classic metal covers either.

And finally I prefer SG's with pickguards and dot inlays for the fretboard too.

So, yeah, definitely not a guitar made for me.

The new Epiphone SG Classic with P90's in the Worn Green finish I personally find quite attractive though (comes in Worn Cherry finish as well):

    Yeah, I'm interested.

Regarding the phase inverter, I have a 1978 Ibanez with one but it's even more extreme as it inverts the neck humbucker with itself, it inverts the two coils.

By itself it's not very useful unless you want a lo-fil, old radio kind of sound but blended with the bridge pup it's cool. It's also very cool by itself run through a germanium fuzz, it makes it sound like an octave fuzz.

I'm interested for sure. The roasted almond (above) is a really cool color. I also really like the blue and the red. I'm curious how narrow the neck will be.. there's not a lot of consistant info online.
I'm kinda bummed that the SG doesn't get grover tuners like the Les Paul Muse.I have not tried the sealed diecast tuners before, but I have my doubts they are as good or better than the grovers

I wonder what kind of a market/demographics are they shooting for with these colors?

I'd have this on in a heartbeat! The black, red and white are really nice as well
