Hey, I found one shop near me that has a Gibson faded sg special in cherry, im going to try it in a few days. Originally I had wanted one in brown, but they don't currently have one. My question is do the ones in brown actaully look like the ones in these pics:?

Or is it just the lighting?

If they do actually look like they do there, I think ill try to have them order one in brown.

Brown is cooler, faded cherry looks like nasty 80's lipstick. :)

I tried a Brown Saturday and it was beautiful. It looked like fine furniture.A friend has the Cherry model and looks beautiful in the areas such the top edge of the lower bout and the neck where use has given it a different sheen.Charlieb can lead you to some pics of his that he waxed. It looks awesome!

    There's my two.

They're both nice. I like the brown color bettter, but, the body is 5 piece. The red lacks some of the "richness" of the brown, but its a one piece body, which I really dig as well.

I saw a cherry LP Jr the other day, and the faded red looks quite a bit like it. The finish on the Jr was very faded looking, sunken (shrunken?) into the grain, and also worn on the back of the neck.

Either way - both finishes will benefit GREATLY from playing use. They buff out where your arm and hands touch 'em. There is already great mojo in the brown one, and the red is developing its own as well.

RollinROCK... call Elderly (get the phone # from www.elderly.com)

They were $575 including shipping when I got mine. Best price I've ever seen, brand new of course, and Elderly has great service.
