Shhh, no one will tell on you if you do not say SG.

I am sure many members here have a variety of guitars in their arsenal. Let's ask, what guitar is your favorite and briefly tell why.

Me? I am tempted to say my Telecaster. That guitar really can do it all - rock, funk, reggae, country, punk - and it sounds great doing it all. However, my Stratocaster is my favorite guitar.
    - tone, it's got that bright sound that I love,
    - every pickup selector position (and there are five) is usable and sounds amazing,
    - emotional attachment (it was my very first guitar)
    - feel, the guitar fits me perfectly
    - looks
    - versatility, most anything I want to play can be done on my Stratocaster

2007 Hamer "Earthen Maple" Studio. #16 out of 25 made. The top wood was submerged in a bog of mud for many years; the back is African Limba. Chambered body, Brazilian Rosewood fretboard. I recently had a custom truss rod cover made in the same font that says "Excalibur." It has definitely earned its name. Very light; sounds great!

My Casino vintage sunburst, not an incredible guitar but a cool inexpensive one.

I think you are understating that Casino. I had to have two Casinos and the reason why is because they really are incredible guitars. The best bang for buck guitar in the world.

Hard to pick just one, these two are my favorites.

If I HAD to pick one and never play the other again, I suppose I'd go with the red one (for this week anyways, ;) )

Really difficult, as nearly every guitar I currently own is a favourite in some way.

    But two stand out:
Yamaha SG1802 - sounds, looks and feels amazing, and is also beautifully made. Felt like a 'played in' guitar straight out of the case. Just a bit on the heavy side...

Reverend Spacehawk - Really versatile tonal range and outstanding across that range. Also very comfortable to play, despite being the size of a 335, it feels more like a Strat.

I've never heard of, let alone seen, a Reverend Spacehawk. Very cool looking guitar. And the name is also super cool. Spacehawk.

20190517_153921-850x1346.jpg Ok, this may sound a little crazy! I have a lot of great guitars, Gibsons, USA Strats, Some sweet Epiphones and other things.
But this is the guitar I bring to every gig and use for all of our 1/2 step down material. It sounds and plays fantastic!
This is a Squier Affinity that I got for $40, now heavily modded by me.
Is it my favorite? Well that changes every day this is my workhorse and I love it!

Wow, a lot of Strats and other non-SG guitars so far. I have a feeling that any of the SGs that cerebral gasket and arcticsg posted would be my favourite, if only I owned them.

As it is my favourite is an "SG", my TV Silver '66 G400 Pro.

    20171105_095415 (450x800).jpg

I have a second SG that is another inexpensive Chinese copy, and it's great too. I like the SG style best because of the way it fits me, it's playability, and the sound. Plus they look awesome! :dude:

In my case, "my favorite" guitar changes 2-3 times a year. In the past few months this has held the spot. My SG is right by the amp and gets the close second atm.

I've posted pics of this guitar more times than I care to remember, but it is definitely still my favorite. It started life as a 2014 Derek Trucks signature model, but I have modded it extensively. First I added a pickguard to it. I have swapped the pickups numerous times. Currently it is sporting a set of Gibson 1964-65 pre T-Top patent sticker pickups. I have swapped the wiring harness (I wanted 50s wiring and linear pots, and one of the original pots failed on me). It has tall pickup rings, nylon saddles and a new TRC. I added a set of double ring Kluson tuners, and the hardware is now all nickel except for the stop tailpiece. I removed the faux Lyre tailpiece cover it came with originally. All in all, a lot of the mods are don just out of "vanity", to make look as much like a 1964 SG as possible. But the fact is that it sounds great and plays like butter. I can't ever see myself selling this one. I play it every day, and although I have other guitars I play extensively, this is the one I always return to.

I thought about it, but this one is so beat and "rat rod" that its original all-black pickguard actually looks good on it. Soon it will have more bare wood showing through, the finish is coming off like crazy.
