    Brew- this will explain most problems/w trouble shooting

    Just don't put any heat near the trannys without asking about heatsinks, and even then..........

    ahhh..heat sinks. i remember those...wouldn't they be helpful when soldering short cap leads?

    Dont need em for the cap leads really....

    Good heatsink=hemostat

    IT WORKS!!

    The problem was in the battery connector wires (as CB correctly predicted... thanks Charlie)... underneath those 2 strips of silver gaffer tape were years of crud and the two ends of wire were just twisted together (on both +ve and -ve terminals). I just stripped back the wires, resoldered the joins - encasing them in heat shrink. Attached the battery... et VOILA!!!

    1968 SG Std ===> "Supa Fuzz" ===> Fender Blues Junior .... classic Cream-era Clapton!!!

    Not exactly versatile... you get the one sound, but reducing the treble, using the "Filter" pot, gives progressively more "Womantone" like sound.

    Going to put it thru the Orange AD30 combo when the neighbours have gone out 8) 8) :lol:

    Did look too clean inside to have any real issues....congratulations on a good find and repair........find something else cool that doesn't work as that was fun!
    Oh and post some sound clips of it too if you can!
