Robert, for a short time in the 80's he played Fenders, Most of his career were Humbucker style guitars of either Gibson or PRS and I am sure some other custom types.

Almost ready to operate on the patient....

    1. Swapping in GFS Alinco II Nickel 7-8k PAF'S
    2. Thick trim ring on bridge only (ala Angus)
    3. Gibson 3-ply truss rod cover to replace my current single ply and match my 3-ply batwing
    4. Set of black Witch Hats

    That's the plan... IMG_20161204_11108.jpg

Robert, this is something many have said. BUT for me, I got hooked on his early voice at a young age. Believe it or not, THAT is the voice I crave from him in a drug like way. Now despite still enjoying their music and concerts here in the 2000's, I could not stand his lower almost human being sounding singing voice of his latter career.

We are all unique in our tastes...nothing wrong with that. Like Alison Kraus...I find her vocals so tonally offensive that I change the station the moment I hear it...I'm musically OCD.

Female favorites - Natalie Merchant, Alana Myles, Kim Carnes, Natalie Embrulgia, Joplin

Male Favorites - Ozzy, Dio, Dickinson, Donnie Van Zandt, Coverdale

    I know...im cuckoo

I'm a little concerned/curious about the GFS 'Kwik-Plug' setup I'm getting. The pickup cable snaps in the pickup baseplate with what looks like a 1/8" male and the other end is a straight solder in affair.

    Thoughts???

Nice touch, but I find it kind of useless, if you still have to do some soldering at the other end of the wire.

During her 10,000 Maniacs run...sure. I had the entire back catalog from Wishing Chair on. Her solo work [IMG]

    Overplayed drivel.

Same deal with Morrissey. With the Smiths - absolutely brilliant. As a solo act? Waterboarding has more appeal.

Love her voice. The material wasn't great. The song Carnival was amazing to me...

To be honest, it was overshadowed by the relentless onslaught of Thank You. So repetitive, so overplayed.....turned me completely off her solo work.

    "Jezebel" was a favorite.
