Interesting. I've seen and discussed molex connectors for pickup connections, but an 1/8ths plug is a new one on me.

I like the idea for semi-hollows in that you can pickup swap without all the work after the first install... But then you are brand dependent :s

You and me both! My first taste of Rush was ATWAS when it first came out. I thought he had the most unique voice and it fit the music so perfectly. I remember people cringing at songs like "Circumstances" while I thought it was one of the most powerful things I'd ever heard. Still do, and agree with you on his elder voice - as much as I like Clockwork Angels I think it could have been so badass with Geddy's pipes circa 1976.

Good point on the semi hollow, but there are worse things than being "brand dependent" when the selection of GFS p'ups is decent and the prices are low.

Gball, Oh how I love ATWAS. Or for those who need translation. All The World's a Stage.

Also, here is a prime example of one of the finest clips Geddy ever sang, plus the prowess of Alex on guitar. Yet one will seldom hear it in concert or on the airwaves.

Another killer example of my favorite Canadian Trio despite being sans Neil Peart unlike the photo for this clip. I thank God still for John Rutsey's drumming on the first album. Straight ahead grooovin and fat ass Marshall sound and ES335 guitar magic by Alex.

Gball thanks for replying to my previous reply about early Rush.
I have been sick for over a week now and despite going on a very memorable vacation to Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Sonoma, Route 66 and finally back home to Baltimore and still sick, I took some time to don my headphones and rock out to my favorite early Rush tunes. Their magic has me forgetting how miserable I still feel. If only I could ply 1/10th as well as Geddy, Alex, John Rutsey and Neil Peart can.

I love how Geddy says, "It changed my life, that stupid little guitar"

Also, regarding pups, I really like my Squier Classic Vibe 50's Tele pups.

Rumor has it they are Toneriders or made in same factory as TR.
    Anyone tried TR humbuckers? Opinons?

Ya think?> Raiyn. RUSH is one of the elements other than Oxygen that pumps thru my veins.

Just listen to ANTHEM from ATWAS and tell me the Bass and Guitar aren't infectious? 7:40-8:38 is almost a perfect minute in musical time that I could ever experience.
