Let him who is without volume creep cast the first tone.
I had the same problem once. My passive-aggressive solution was to take my most powerful amp (at the time a 50-watt JCM-800/1961 cab) and played it dimed for a couple of gigs, effectively turning all of the stage volume into my guitar and deafening every living thing in a 2-block radius, until the rest of them said "man, that is way too loud and you need to turn down" - at which point I used the opportunity to explain that I needed it to compete with them and we all agreed to ratchet down the onslaught. Haha, worked for me and I went back to using my little Laney AOR 1x12 for the gigs after that.
Keyboard players are very arrogant. they consider themselves a Mozart, Beethoven or a Liberace at the very least. and they always get paid for their work. their instrument can swallow up an entire band if left unchecked.. they'really very hard to work with.
Sometimes the only solution is having the biggest gun
Lovely Basingstoke! Our Head of packaging at the brewery is from Basingstoke.
I will guaranty you that if I dime either my Quilter SS or Fender tube tube amp I will deafening them all along with the congregation. But I wisely choose not to.
