Hey... I recently built a SG from the Stratosphere. Bought a Futura body, 2013, put the original pickups and electronics. Grover machine heads rather than the robot tuners and what I thought was a Gibson stop bar and bridge. when I set the intonation I had to raise the stop bar extremely high to keep the top strings from resting on the back of the bridge. Any suggestions?

Put washers between the stop bar and the bushings works pretty well. How much is too high? Is the bridge extremely high, as well? Is relief set correctly?

    Welcome to ETSG!

I suggest you top wrap your strings. Some stop bars need you to slide an
extra string bead down the string before top wrapping, in order to keep the wound part of the string from bending over the tail of the stop bar.

Not all of them need the extra string bead. This is the stock tailpiece
on my 2012 Silverburst SG spec.

Now let's see some photos of your guitar.
