Ever since bringing my new Gibson SG Modern home it has a intermittent bad connection. I brought it back to the dealer to get checked out. Problem was caused by a corroded input jack that was made in China. Jack was replaced with a Switchcraft. I didn't expect this from Gibson to use cheap parts that fail right off the hop. Just a heads up.

Wow, I am actually a little surprised. Perhaps others aren’t, but I put a little more credence than that in Gibson

Gibson uses switchcraft output jacks. Maybe yours was replaced or something strange before you got it.

That had always been the case. It should be assembled in the USA.

Had to be from the factory because it was BNIB It's all good now, switch was replaced under warranty, just not expected from Gibson.

Are you sure its a "real" Gibson? Lots of fakes out there ya know, and not to mention unscrupulous dealers.

I'd like to see the original Chinese jack.

I bought a 2019 junior it has a switchcraft jack and the build quality is impeccable.
