    I've bought a few B-stock pieces.
Not a huge discount but usually a bit less for a perfectly fine piece that was retourned or has some minor flaws.

I'm still in the "pre-loved" or what I call "shelter" guitar owners group.

If the shipping costs to return in dont make it worth the risk of the savings vs what the blemish may be, dont do it.
At the minimum, to assess that risk pictures are a must.

I agree mostly though, I would buy or have bought b stock, blemished, or used guitars only if sure I could return them with out much hassle or bitch about it and an get additional credit.

You're going to put a ding in the guitar in the first month and feel bad about it. Get pre-dinged and when you add yours you won't feel so horrible.

I buy all well used and abused guitars and repair them. Other people will buy a brand new guitar and 'auto upgrade' to some other pickups or tuners before they really play the stock instrument - so even if 'the switch was broke' you can use that as an excuse to upgrade the switch.

As others noted, have the retailer take pictures of the damage and the serial number to send you -- just so you don't have any surprises and tell them it will make for a faster sale.
You might have them take pictures of two guitars they have in stock so you can pick the prettiest one :)

Just received an email from zzsounds after i asked them if they can send me pics of the two guitars marked as blemished

    "
    Hey Fahad,

Unfortunately we do not have record of the specific blemish on each of
our items marked as such. In general you can expect there to be minor
cosmetic wear on the instrument, scratching/wear which from a customer
who returned it within our 45 day return policy. Most people find that
it is insignificant or can't even notice it at all! "

I think im going to pass

Right thing to do considering the distance. If you were close by, the risk would be minimal.

    Exactly!
Good luck and dont let anyone tell you an EPI SG is a poor copy!
YOU decide for yourself even if some arrogant cork sniffing type keeps insulting folks on an otherwise friendly internet guitar forum. Pretty cold hearted snickering down at folks who maybe cant afford the Gibson.

Repeating something, good or bad, dont make it so.

I have two that I am very happy with. I know they are "basic" compared to the REAL Gibson SG, but it truly is in the eye of the beholder. And, my bends NEVER get caught in the Nib binding.

My experience is exactly what they tell you: minor cosmetic blemishes that you can't even notice at first!
I don't really like shining new guitars so, a dinged one for a nice price is always welcome.

So if a factory relic'ed guitar has a blemish, does that mean it has a clear spot on it with no fake aging?

Seriously guys, learn to use the ignore feature, it's glorious.

I think I'm about ready to use the ignore button too. I've been hoping that he would chill out, but it doesn't look like it. Here goes the finger on the button... :yesway:
