In 1966 this person produced and released, along with his band, a multi-layer tracked album inspired by an album by another band. Incidentally this album inspired the original inspiration's band to make another watershed album.
Name the person. Extra credit: Name the album.

    Ok, here goes:

This Canadian-born guitarist is known for (among other things) his role in Bob Dylan's electric backing band during 1965 and '66 and his more recent career and association with Martin Scorcese.

    Who is Lloyd Grant?
BTW he was not a full-time guitarist for them. He played solos on Hit The Lights for them until Dave Mustaine was hired as a full time guitarist.

    alrighty then

this legendary producer's resume reads like a who's who of 20th century performers but he is also noteable for technical acheivements such as the first use of a solid state counsel for recording and mixing, use of the first four track dolby discrete sound which he connected to a movie studio from his post production facility via satelite, the first use of dolby optical surround sound, the first use of digital live recording, and the first fiber optic system to record tracks in real time from different locations. He has won 9 grammys.
