Oh, come on, you are being a little harsh.

OK, you might not like the paint job (others might), but won't you concede that at least Gibson are presenting a finish other than the finish that has been on every electric guitar for 70 years? Isn't that a good thing? Must every guitar always be a solid color or a burst finish?

Sure, maybe I am being a little harsh. The concept is what kills me though. Seems like I have come to expect anything that Henry does as a fail.........

...an I thought a shaggin' wagon was more like a hayride...

I must just be an analog person (not). the term makes me think
of a 1975 Chevy Van, with shag carpet on the walls of the cargo space.
ah me, those were the days my friends.

I think the shaggin aspect was probably borrowed from this horrid movie: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_Powers:_The_Spy_Who_Shagged_Me because shaggen or shagging wasn't part of popular American vernacular in the 70's.

Meh, I'm with grumpy I'll take a pshcadelic SG over them any day.
But the Gibson lifestyle thing, meh Fender does it but just doesn't say it outloud. And if you think Paul Reed Smith wouldn't sell us lunch boxes and action figures if he could. I can see it now the John Mayer action figure complete with silver sky strat. I will put it next to my beanie babies and cabbage patch dolls.

Harley, NASCAR, WWE, the NFL, Gibson, Fender....on and on the list goes. Companies stretch so far away from their base in an attempt to broaden their markets that, eventually, the wave crashes and what's left is a shell.

Betting your company's future on a series of temporary fads might bring in some immediate progress but it's often times a losing bet in the long run. Once the fad is over, your base has long left out of disgust and the fad buyers moved on to the next glittery thing that catches their eye.

Yup. my 1988 MIA strat with zero artist endorsements is just fine, I just hate products that cater to the retard in people. Ah no. having an artist endorsed guitar will not make you play like that person.
