my heritage cherry sg standard faded to brown decades ago because it can... i always thought it looked cool under a black light which shows off it's "pedigree" known to the proletariat as "wear & tear"... so i went to the local "black lights are us" & snagged a big one...the next week is crazy busy for me but i'll check in later or sooner...

This guitar would make my frik'n day bro! Nearly everything I want to do to an SG but don't dare! But it is nice when you can find them already done like this from a popint in time when it was the right thing to do! Love these necks & frets too. It reminds me of the LP Deluxe I came across that had similar 'improvements'!

77 Les Paul Deluxe w Kahler Trem (2).jpg

    I love this baby too!

    I'm such a guitar philanderer.

    Relic,

Why you gotta be like that, bruddah! My weakness for whammy is pretty much common knowledge, by now.

So, you post up a luscious Lester with a Kahler...to taunt me, I presume.

I will build an SG with a Kahler...oh, yes...I will build it. It may have to wait until I've remodelled the bathroom and bought my daughter a car...but I will build it!

And ya want to know something...? There really is nothing quite like the feel & ease of use of the Kahler! Just smooth smooth smooth.

I even picked up a couple extra that have Gibson embossed on the metal instead of Kahler! Maybe we should take bro???

    Got Trem?

Oh, I have the hardware! The pic below just shows the trem and bar, but I have all the other parts, too...the nut lock, the posts, the bushings, even the screws and routing template.

I just need the SG husk.

my sg which my "parents" bought for me in december of 72 didn't even leave victors music in nj usa with a white toggle switch knob, snagged a black one there for 10 cents. caps from a friends neckless/smashed early 60's melodymaker & not the whole gears but just the knob/grip/button from my brothers les paul recording in 73ish. dimarzio pickups from guitar trader in redbank nj about 74ish, kahler whammy 84/5. etc... when a leaf spring broke in the toggle switch i only replaced the 1 spring, not the switch. the serial # is 752082 still has the original strings (just kidding)!

    That was.. disturbing.
Then the GIF image disappeared ! Which left me greatly unsure of what I had just seen! LOL
I could have sworn I saw a middle aged man doing 'the grind' right next to some kid sitting eating her cereal who would have got a but pump to the face if she turned around too quick.

But then when I opened a 'reply', that middle aged dude came back & affirmed how creepy it really was. This is eerily more disturbing than the intentionally disturbing stuff I try to post. Lost fer wordz. LOL

A surprisingly good choice for tremolo is the Duesenberg Les Trem II. Replaces the stop bar with their studs and is easy to set up and use.
