i miss my goth... its been 2 1/2 hrs now since she was stolen. wonder where she is? wonder what tales she has to say...

my standard is by far my favorite guitar, i also have a faded brown that i havent really played lately. the neck is a tad chunky i think.

    I've got 2: [1] a fairly early SG classic [2]historic 61 SG/LP reissue.
About 30 yrs ago I HAD a 67 sg standard [batwing pickguard, with maestro vibrola] sure wish I still had it..]
I'd like to get an SG JUNIOR [I LOVE p-90s] with or without the short vibrola, and a STANDARD [as I dig chunky necks].

    I love this place.
It's just about the only place where I'm not considered mentally unbalanced because of my SG fetish ;D

    In order of obsession:
    2006 Standard Ebony
    2007 Special Faded Cherry
90'ish Epiphone Goth, can't remember the exact year
    1979 Gibson 'The SG'
    1978 Deluxe

    You're OK, it's everyone else that's a little out of whack. :D

    That's what I keep telling them! :)
Although with three new guitars in less than two months I'm starting to question my own sanity as well...

    Only three (for now).
Left to Right: 2005 SG Classic, 2007 Custom Shop '61 "Les Paul" in Silver Sparkle, 2007 Guitar of the Week - '67 SG Special

I say "for now" because I'm currently trying to track down a Goddess and might have a lead on one.

how do the classic and the 67 special compare: soundwise, neckwise, weightwise?
the classic, probably has less wood due to routing under the pickguard right? can you tell a difference?
I LOVE the small pickguard look. I have a classic too but wish I had your 67 special..

Last time I counted, I had 15 or so:
1992 SG Special (white, faded to a beautiful yellow)
1999 SG Special Limited Edition (cream, ebony fretboard, gold hardware, gold bigsby)
    2000 SG Standard (heritage cherry)
2002 SG Special (ebony fretboard, crescent moons, worn brown)
2002 SG Special (ebony fretboard, crescent moons, worn cherry)
2003 SG Special (ebony fretboard, crescent moon, worn brown)
2004 SG Special (ebony, pearloid pickguard)
2005 SG Classic (P-90s, heritage cherry)
    2006 SG Classic (ditto)
2006 SG Classic (yep, another one)
2007 SG3 (GOTW, satin mahogany finish, three rail pickups)

    And if basses count:
2005 SG Reissue Bass (heritage cherry)
2006 SG Reissue Bass (heritage cherry)
2007 SG Reissue Bass (worn brown)
2007 SG Reissue Bass (worn cherry)

Plus a half dozen Les Pauls, maybe a half dozen Fender Stratocasters of various ages and models.

Here are three of my favorites:

Because he likes em? Ha ha Makes sense to me. I know variety is a great thing, but why go with something more expensive if what you have is good enough.

Sure, if you like your Classic, that's good, but why get two exact duplicates?

Was I telling him what to do with it? I don't think so.

No, not telling, merely questioning, and through said questioning belittling.
