If I had a time machine I would go back and sabotage
the research facility that cracked the mystery of time travel
before they figured it out, then time travel would never
be invented in the first place..

I was twelve years old when the Beatles came to America, so experienced the best rock, blues, whatever style guitar era first hand. Go back in time? To 1959, load every new Les Paul ‘ burst I could find into a new Porsche Speedster and bring them all back to 2018. And be wealthy

Thereby potentially keeping them out of the hands of the icons who would have played them as relatively inexpensive used guitars...relegating them as the failure Gibson saw them as in '61 when they brought out the SG. Would you be prepared for Danelectro taking over the role of iconic rock guitar?

Where oh where would the tonewood posse hang their hats then?

The Porsche Speedster would still be cool though.

Unintended consequences. But the thing is the Porsche as delivery vehicle. I could only load enough in that one car, for one trip, to ensure my monied status upon my return “Back to the Future.” All Gibby’s in England’s future Gitargods hands would be untouched. Signed, Doc Brown.

That’d be even more reason to stay put.

I'm a classic era rocker from the get go.. All the way. But I'd give my eye teeth to be able to see and meet Wes Montgomery in the mid 1960's. The guy was as gifted as anyone could ever be on six strings. Steve Howe, Jimi Hendrix, SRV, Santana, Joe Pass, and many other greats awed at his talent.

Looks like we both hit it at the same time and age. Also agree with you on the era of music. What was your first electric guitar and where did you get it? Mine was a Sunburst Memphis LP copy (tank built) in Bend, Oregon.

Mine was also a Memphis LP copy(black) lol. I think I got it from a friend and paid $75 for it. Eventually it was sacrificed in a Townshend moment on stage at a party.

In 1971 I purchased a white on white used Telecaster for my first guitar. So would have most likely been a mid to late 1960’s model. Current value of $5,000 (?).

Traded that for an SG 200 after about one year. Traded that later for a Two or Three burst Strat. Sold that around 1974 and quit guitaring until purchasing a black on black LP Studio Deluxe in 1984. Kept that until again ceasing play in 1992. So back into it now with an SG Special and Strat.
