    Real nice!

Always have had a great experience with Sweetwater. The few things I have had to return were taken care of with a quick turnaround. The only reason I didn't get my latest from them is because there were only a few retailers with the SG in Alpine white - unfortunately Sweetwater wasn't one of them.

Hope you enjoy your new SG - I'm loving mine so far.

Sweetwater has well over 10K of my hard earned money...they are a fantastic place to deal with.

If you have a rep now don't buy anything without calling him. I've gotten at least 10% off everything I've bought in the last 3 years...

I bought something as small as a drum key from SW. Not only did I get emails to check on my order and satisfaction, but I got phone calls and personal interest in the order to make sure I got exactly what I was expecting.

I agree! That is a beautiful piece of wood...very nice grain and color!

I got my 2014 Standard from Sweetwater and about half a dozen others...I'm contemplating this one...

...is it worth $130 of my $$$

That's worth $130/month to me too.

I was originally going to buy a goldtop LP Trad that i'd had my eye on. I love goldtops. But after looking around at different SG's, I just kinda fell in love with this one. They fit my style better, both in tone and looks.

I'll probably still get an R7 someday though.

I don't know, Sp8ctre... Just look at that rich, luxurious color on the backside... yuk! And then there's all that swirly, layered, tight Mahogany grain... utterly disgusting!

Goo, I am not sure it is not just pure HONEY. I think lighting and shadows in the pic make it appear somewhat bursted.
However to me it looks like an evenly stained finish.

    Like you said tho, MMMMMM

It's actually Lemon Burst...but R8's are known not to have a huge amount of "Burst" and that's one reason I like them...

Sp8, Gotcha on the Lemon, also, please explain to me just what all the R plus numbers are?

Also, wondering what the status of the Nibs situation at Gibson is with regards to their current bound neck models.

Chopped off frets with big nibs still, or have they began to fix it for us who like the frets to extend either full length or tapered the proper old way with the fret etending past the fretboard a little and tapering into as small as possible amount of nibs like the good old days.

    The R numbers are Gibson way of Serializing their re-issue series guitars...R0 = 1960, R8 = 1958, R9 = 1959 and so forth...

OMG, I never woulda guessed that unless I was told. Thanks Sp8.

I occasionally saw it mentioned, and just was too dumb to ponder the answer.
