    I thought he died several years back ?
    I recall reading an Iommi interview and Iommi mentioned something about Birch being gone ! Another Iommi Factoid: John Diggins aka Jay Dee Guitars in the UK ( Who has also built Iommi several custom SG's )worked for John Birch before branching out on his own. The picture below was made by John Diggins in of all places, his kitchen table,so the story goes !

    man there is something that i dig about "the big boys" playing beat up guitars! i'll even admit :oops: to thinking how cool it was of willie nelson getting up in front of the world, with everyone around him playing super shiney customs and him playing that old flattop with a hole worn in it! 8) 8)

    our value system has failed us! i do love it when someone can point that out by being ugly and playing old beat up instruments.....and force you to enjoy it using sheer talent......that's class!!! :D

    They made Willie's guitar from the ugly tree they hit him with, (sorry Willie, love ya man), hahahahahahahaha.

    i think Willie was hit twice with that ugly tree then
    attacked by rabid hungry beavers on crack and
    left for dead in a snowstorm with a mouthful
    of porcupine quills and a butt full of bear weenie
