I've been wanting a Les Paul for quite some time, it just hasn't been in my budget. Someone locally has a 2000 Studio for $550, it has a body repair. I haven't checked it out yet in person. I've attached the pic from his ad. Should I check it out in person or keep looking? I'm not sure how common something like this is, I cant imagine it happening very often. This is in the Denver market.

IMNSHO studios in pristine condition with a hardcase aren’t worth much more than $550-600.

[SARCASM]Unless they are in the ultra rare cherry red colour [SARCASM/]

That's a hell of a rip. I'd take a look and if it plays OK and doesn't really look too ugly offer $325, not a cent more. $550 could buy an intact Studio, not a rehab patient.

Definitely too much for a repaired studio. The average used Studio runs about that much without any issues. I don't see why being in the greater Denver area would effect the price that much. Maybe hold off till the big box stores open again. GC probably has many hundreds of used studio's in their inventory.

I'm also in Denver, and I'm pretty sure I saw that studio before it was repaired/changed hands.

I would definitely hold off. Cheaper (or should I say, more realistically priced) studios do show up, ya just gotta be patient (and ready to buy when they do).

Does that crack go all the way through the body?? Looks like it's causing issues with the the position of the bridge pickup.
