Hey, I think it's time to get rid of the pawn stars (which is all bull-taco anyway) and put up a new thing to greet people who arrive on our site.

Tired of lookin' at it. And we could be drooling over some of the prices on new SGs... Gibson has dropped some of them, and anyone who has a few bucks can take advantage, and should. Me, I have more brains than money, so I ain't buying anything, but I wish I could.

So let's vote in my poll, if it works. I've never posted a poll before, so I'm trying it now. Two options: get rid of the Pawn Stars article/keep the Pawn Stars article.

    What do you all think?

it's on the front page of our website here. it's the first thing anybody sees if they click search for ETSG.

not that the article is bad thing, it's just been there too long, and the Pawn Stars TV show is all fake and scripted anyway. my point is that there might be better things out there we could post on the front page.

Well, I'm glad you're still here. I think of you as one of the "important" contributors to this site.

"Pawn Stars" is another fake reality show anyway, so you miss nothing.

Alongside Hardcore Pawn, Cajun Pawn, Cash Cowboys... Getting a little sick of these stupid Pawn Shop shows... Almost as bad as the home renovation reality shows and all the other crap out there...

Funny, I thought the same thing the past few times I have arrived at the forum via the ETSG home page. The question is what to put in it's place, for sure.

There is a poorly scripted / acted show now about a restorer that I caught two minutes of the other day. His well-endowed wife (that has to help ratings) bought a 60's Ventures guitar for him to restore for their son. The husband scratched his head and played dumb about what he could do with it. That's when I changed the channel - the acting was so pathetic.

I've been in the place and purchased some shot glasses when I was there. You have to wait less than 10 minutes to get inside. It was cool going in there. You can take photos but they don't want people to record video. The green Morrison painting is freakin' hugh! I'll go back again and visit. On the show Rick negotiates way more than what real pawn shop crooks do in real life. He is also knowledgeable about the stuff, other pawn shops have low-life idiots running these places who attempt to burn all who enter these seedy venues.

Oh, but Kevy, you're missing so much! All the fake transactions...the scripted bartering...the poorly acted office conflicts...c'mon, what's not to like?!

Another pathetically fake show is "Oddities", about an antique store in NYC where they buy and sell "wierd" stuff, like old medical devices, bones, and the like...
You see them haggling over prices with potential buyers and sellers, and you can tell straight away that it's scripted.
Also, the so-called customers are all wierd... Dress, act and talk like real creeps. If you saw these people in the street you'd think they just escaped from the local mental hospital!!! I've never seen anyone on the show who is "normal"...
Do these people (the producers who create this crap) really think we're that stupid???

"If you saw these people in the street you'd think they just escaped from the local mental hospital!!!" They closed all of our mental hospitals in Cali, back in the 70s, so unfortunately we see these folks everyday !
