Just got my Katana amp! Sounds pretty good out of the box, downloaded a few patches and i think its a keeper. It can sound harsh and real "solid state" at times, but with a little tweaking or download patches from people who know what they are doing(juca nery) and you can get some real usable tones out of it i think.

    Thanks Doc!

If my wife asks, they are tools... otherwise we all know they are toys!!

    Nice!

I've been considering a 50 1x12 combo. I like the idea of 26 lb amp for gigs.

Congrats! Use the “variation” button, when I tried one out in store I noticed that the second set of “models” really restores a lot of that high-frequency sparkle missing from the originals. Really takes away that “solid state” sound.

About presets ... when you try a floor demo in a store, make sure to do a factory reset before you start going through presets. First time I tried one, I ran out of that store with my hands on my ears.

Someone must have modified the original presets.

Congrats on the new amp, and nice guitar collection too. These Boss amps are great little things. I decided to go with the Nextone rather than the Katana, but either seems hard to beat for value and versatility.

Thanks! I am excited to put some time into this thing - there seems to be a lot of support for it out there, which is nice.
I have since ordered the GA-FC foot controller and EV5 expression pedal which should arrive tomorrow.
My wife is sure lucky to have me, so that i can allow her to let me spoil myself! :hmm:
