I got this sweet deal from a seller in fb in my country. 16k php or more or less $298 with a hardcase. From the serial it seems it's a 2003 MIK in the Unsung factory G-400. I just wanted to get more information about it since I haven't seen any of its kind anywhere on the net yet.
The seller has replaced the TRC with a Gibson TRC and the nut has been replaced with a bone nut. The tuners were replaced with a Yamaha SG tuner.

Here's mine, a little tricked out with "E" branded deluxe tuners, Allparts Maestro, 57 classic pickups.

Yeah ! Good catch and welcome to the SG Zoo !

It is a Vintage alright. They are easy to recognise with their neck binding, gold headsock inscriptions and no veneer bodies. Not many come up on the used market, cherish it, it's one of the best G400 ever produced.

It's weak point, if there is one, is the pickups. They are not bad, but you can find better. I put a set of Tyson Tone PAFs in mine, worth more than the guitar, but I won them. A good set that would compliment it well is the new Epiphone ProBuckers. You can get a good deal on a used pair.

    Here's mine.

I thought it wasn't a vintage just because the finish was a bit shinier than the pictures on the net.
Thanks for all your replies! I was thinking of upgrading the pups but I guess I'll treasure it first before getting some new ones.

This is definitely a keeper for me. It just has that mojo that screams play me hehehe

I buffed mine to a nice subtle shine.

I used the original Alnico5 for some time before switching and they were good. Find their sweetspot height and rock on. This was recorded with the Alnico5 I believe.

Musicians Friend still has some new ones in stock...Ebony,Cherry & Silver Burst.
Their description says "High Gloss" finish...is it like the mid-60's Gibson High Gloss?

My mistake...MF has THIS: Epiphone Limited Edition 1966 G-400 PRO in those 3 colors...The "Vintage" that they sell is either "worn Cherry" or "worn Brown" in a soft satin finish...and I think it's now built in the China factory:(

Based on? Looks like a 2003 G-400 Vintage to me. The TRC is a simple refit.

Nice grab, brian! I’ve got a ’99 Unsung and love it. No veneer, Gibson (labeled) TRC, fantastic fat neck. But…no binding. Oh well, can’t have it all.

If you find you’re having trouble with your tuners, and I have no reason to believe you might, I’ve got a set of Grover 135N Vintage Tuners 3+3 – Nickel unopened that I could sell you. I replaced my bridge and while I was ordering I thought I’d go ahead and pick up a set of tuners. Turns out my Epi branded tuners are perfect with no issues so my loss is your gain.
