New 1963 Les Paul Junior day!

    That looks incredible! That's also the cleanest chainsaw case I've ever seen! Hands down my favorite Gibson case. Congrats on a sweet guitar.

    Thanks man. Yeah, these late 70's version 1 Protector cases are fantastic! The size is not much different than a regular hard case, and the protection is amazing! The later versions in the 80's became quite large and they look kind of funny (hence the "Chainsaw" case slang) I'm sure they protect just as well though...

    Most buyers of these old Les Paul Juniors opted for the cheapest (cardboard) "Durabilt" cases. As an example - back in 1961, they were $16. Two other cases were an option, but were more expensive. The Archcraft (plush) $25 and the Faultless case (gold plush) $50. The Junior was only $157.50. :cool:
