Just seen some online stores stocking these new SG Specials. In Europe they're selling for 1300-1400 € from what I've seen. Gotta say they look awesome, both finishes. And very true to an early 60's Special.

Do these have anything to do with the new Gibson CEO? If so, that wold be a very good start!

Ummm pretty sure any change in leadership will not show up in new product or tweaks until a couple of months go by more likely not much until 2020 product year.

P90 sg with a wrap tail!!??

Might be why gibson had to reorganize. How could an SG like that NOT be available ???

Wow, what a difference two years makes... In 2016 I bought an SG Standard HP for £949. Now a Special with P90s and a wraparound bridge costs £1,199.

Does look pretty in Pelham though. And according to the sales blurb I just read, the wraparound "removes the need to mess around with intonation" - Brilliant!

You're probably right, these ones should have been on the works for some time for them to be ready now

You gotta love Gibson's marketing copywriters
I find them a bit overpriced too, but if I see a used one in a couple of years, I might have to get it! The Pelham shade is perfect, but the Burgundy might be my favourite, it's stunning.

The Fireburst has been on the chopping block ever since I got the Blackie. I need burgundy P90s in my life.

Anyone remember those Pete Townshend 50th anniversary specials from a while back? My guess is they are repurposing the CNC with the programs for those guitars.

The cherry one would pretty much be a dream guitar for me.

I think you're right about the CNC program, but these have slim taper necks and the Townshends have a pretty chunky neck. I'm fine either way. I've got a 50th anniv. Townshend, and it's just iconic. There's something about playing that particular instrument, with the history they've got, that is really satisfying.

Just, please, don't have thick necks. Because if they do, it's gonna be super hard to resist that blue one.

You want Pelham Blue, Sir! :)

No definite delivery date, but suggested delivery date in Europe of mid January...

Some place seem to already have sold out, so I wonder just how limted they will be? The cherry seems to be a deep blood cherry they are calling burgundy, and it does look fantastic in the pictures.

Haha, I love red. Pelham Blue is lovely though, and pretty rare.

Everyone who keeps calling it cherry, it is burgundy metallic. More like a Candy Apple Red. I need one of those

I saw a Pelham door, and I want to...

I still want a black 66ish style standard with the batwing, but I do like these two colours on the special.
