    Hey!

New here. I bought a new SG a month ago, the first guitar I ever bought brand new. It's not the first SG I ever own but this one gets to stay.

It's by no means perfectly built but it plays and sounds great and I really, really like it.

I have a strange relationship to SG's, I used to really dislike them based on nothing but their body shape. One day out of the blue I looked at one and thought; "man it's really kinda cool". Once I played one I was of course sold.

Welcome! I share the same relationship to SGs, I was quite indifferent, even disliked them at times, and then I played one at a store, and brought it home.

Welcome! Many of us have SGs as their main workhorse. I enjoy all my guitars including my SG.

We're a friendly bunch here. Feel free to ask for advice for any troubleshooting or changes you may eventually want to do.

Hey, we also love pics. Feel free to post any pictures of your beloved SG.
    And again, welcome!

No one ever had to ask me twice to post guitar photos :D

The pics aren't very good but you get the idea :)

Welcome and thanks for the photos of this stunning SG. Very good choice.

Interesting that you mention your initial dislike for SGs. The same happened to me. In the beginning I didn't like the SG shape at all. Found it quite ugly. I have no idea what happened next. But some day I was GASing for an SG and now I think its the most awesome type of electric guitar. Love that body shape which feels and looks perfect!

    Thank you!

That's exactly what happened to me!
There is only one logical explanation:

There has to be something about SGs to over come its shortcomings - ie. neck dive. For me, that includes the great neck acess and sustain.

    Also the rubber neck issue...

The low weight is another trait.

I don't experience any issues with any of my SG. None of them have rubber neck syndrome, nor do any of them neck dive. All my SG have thick rounded neck profiles with Grover 135N tuners to eliminate unnecessary weight on the headstock.

Mine has no or very little neck dive. It does have a bit of a rubber neck though. There is nothing wrong with the neck joint but the neck is long and fairly slim.

The fret job is absolutely perfect but it does suffer from somewhat dead f notes.

    Welcome to ESG!

Your guitar is gorgeus!!! And I think it sounds good too. Pelham Blue, wraparound bridge and two P-90s, it can't be bad!
Lovin' guitars is not always something that happens quickly, I have some experience, but playing it, you will know it better.

    Nice to meet you!
