I could've sworn that I posted this here a couple of weeks ago, but apparently I didn't. I thought ESG members would enjoy checking it out, so here goes...

It's a '65 SG Junior with factory custom color. As with many '65s, it's got a mixture of specs - earlier 1 11/16" nut width, but later features such as chrome bridge/vibrola and I think IRW fretboard. The neck is really chunky - actually one of the larger ones that I own. The single P-90 is really sweet sounding and rolling the tone most or all of the way down gives a really pronounced cocked wah sound, more so than most of mine that just do the woman tone thing. Although I'm not a hater of the vibrola like many, I do love the wraptail feel, so I've removed the arm/comb for now and just have them in the case. Here are the goods!

Oh man that Junior is a beauty! How does she play? And how is that bent tuner? Does it hold tune fine?

Thanks! It plays quite nicely. Not quite as nicely as my not-as-pretty '64 Jr., but that's one of my favorite guitars. I think the frets could use a polishing. The tuner holds well. It just makes restringing a little more difficult.

That's really rare, a Junior with a bound neck.
    Great find!

Wow! Beautiful! A big congrats...

    Refret? I see no nibbies.

Cocked Wah effect? How about some nice pics of inside the control cavity. I wonder if the Tone cap was replace with a much lower value... :hmm:

Excellent pics. All looks original. I can actually see small sections of the pre-faded blue around the chips and inside the cavity.

Did they bind Junior necks, or did they use a Special neck for the occasion of the PB finish/ran out of Jr. necks that day?

I believe most/all Polaris White Juniors (and some Pelham Blue) from this era have faux binding that's actually just finish that wraps around onto the fretboard where binding would be. That's what this one has.

But this one has actual binding and fret end nibs, as far as the photos are to be trusted, doesn't it? I mean the PB finish does cover the side of the binding, but it's still there.
I'm probably just misunderstanding your post.

I know that Juniors are supposed to have unbound fingerboards, to make it less convoluted :-)

And before I forget, it is a gorgeous guitar, congratulations!
