    Happy New (to You) SG-Elitist Day

    :thumb::thumb::thumb:

    If it's similar (and I'm sure it is) to the 5 FujiGen guitars I currently own you'll get a GREAT guitar

    Update - It actually arrived Saturday! Mint condition, it looks even better in person than in the photos. Compared to my Schecter the pickups are a bit darker sounding with a tad bit more edge.

    Most importantly, it has the neck I've been looking for which I was only able to find on a $1200 '61 reissue. The fit and finish everyone talks about on these Elitist series guitars is no joke. I've played my friend's new G400 reissue and this is definitely a step above those. Heck, I played one at guitar center and the bridge pickup wouldn't even work, so for the extra $200-300 over a G400 this is a no brainer, and for half the price of a Gibson '61 Reissue this a double no brainer, IMO.

    I think I'm going to play it a while longer with these PU's before switching to '57 classics. These are nice, but I'm sure it could be better.

    Update on the Windsor/1960 combination, I'm picking the cab up Wednesday so we'll see how she sounds then. I've been playing it through my Bandit 112 and a/b to the duncan designed pickups in my Schecter you can really hear the tone woods come out with this axe.

    Do all Epi Elitist guitars have the uniquely shaped headstock? That caught my eye right away, as well as the two-screw truss rod cover.

    The Elite has the "open book" style headstock, those were the earlier ones, and typically say "Gibson" on the truss rod cover. The Elitist have the tombstone headstock and say "Elitist" on the truss rod cover. This was done to further differentiate them from Gibson's.

    I also believe that sold-in-japan Elitists have the open book head stock as well.
