This was such a great deal I couldn't pass it up. It's got some dings, so I don't have to baby it. I love the satin finish, and now I'm considering sanding down or dulling the cherry finish on my 1966 Epi G-400. This one has the kill switch pot. I haven't restrung her yet, but I think I'll go with some heavy/skinny EB's first now. I've got this one tuned to Drop D.

I've got a set of Rio Grande Texas/BBQ pups coming in as well as a Lace Dirty Hesher Neck. Now I have to decide which pups go in which guitar.

I swear my next SG or G-400 will have a P90 neck and HB bridge.

I love the look of satin finishes like this. I nearly bought the Epiphone LP Studio Goth, which looks great, too. My only concern: I've read that the finish quickly becomes greasy/shiny at spots with a lot of skin contact. Can you confirm this?

I have to say that mine has started to shine a bit in some high contact areas, like where my strumming arm rubs against the body and on the back of the neck. I have no problem with this, it shows that I am playing enough. One could take down the shine with some scotchbrite or rubbing compound, I suppose.

I like the gothic LP (I'm eyeing one with EMG-Xs), but I've recently gotten into the Ibanez ARZ (307 and 800) for the 25" scale and mainly the best feeling neck joint I've experienced! It's like the Matt Heafy LP but with a longer scale length.

    Cheers!

I didn't know the Ibanez ARZ series. Looks very good. Do you know how the neck shape is? I don't like the typical super slim shape on many Ibanez guitars...

Goth looks like bad-ass fun. You'll have to play it at parties. You know, dark, sinister, heavy tunes. Great buy.
