After seeing so many of you talk about the MIK bound fretboard G-400s, I had to snag this one when I saw it! Bound fretboard, no veneer. I may change out the pups for one of the sets I have waiting for bodies.

I haven't cleaned or restrung her yet.

I also managed to find an ESP Viper Deluxe...I post that in the other forum.

Nice, I've been waiting for a MIK Vintage in brown to come along so I can snap it up.

Out of curiosity, what don't you like about the pickups? I've always heard good things about them and thought it was one of the reasons people held them in such high regard.

I just want to try out my newly acquired pups: Lace Matt Pike Dirty Hesher Neck, Rio Grand TX/BBQs, Lace Brent Hinds. I've gotten G-400 after G-400 with the intent of changing out the pickups only to be pretty happy with the stockers. I play a lot of stoner doom, so I'd like to see what those pups are all about. Of course we all know a lot of that music was done on stock 57 PAFs and heavy iron.

The stock pickups are quite good and very hot, in comparison to 57 classics for instance. I like them very much for metal and hard rock.

Here's mine with 57 classics, deluxe tuners and Allparts Maestro. It's my "classic rock" SG.
